Our certified servicemen treat you and your home with respect. They show up on time for your waterproofing project. They answer any questions you have. They clean up after they finish installing the waterproofing system. When you work with Quality 1st Basement Systems you can expect permanent waterproofing solutions and exceptional service.
Our patented basement waterproofing system is a permanent solution to your wet basement troubles. The system consists of an interior drainage channel, a high-volume sump pump and an exterior French drain.
A shallow trench is jack hammered into the perimeter of your basement and the interior drainage channel is laid in the trench. The drainage channel contains any water entering your basement and drains it to a sump pump. The sump pump pumps any water in the basement out and away from your home through the exterior French drain.
After everything is installed, the interior drainage channel is cemented over and the sump pump pit is capped. You never see the system working but it keeps your basement permanently dry. We also install a basement dehumidifier. The energy-efficient dehumidifier maintains the relative humidity of the basement, keeping it low enough to prevent mold growth and rot.
All the materials and products we use in our waterproofing system are the highest quality you’ll find in industry. The interior French drain is a patented steel design rather than the plastic corrugated pipe most basement contractors use. The sump pump has a backup pump as well as battery-powered pump. Our basement waterproofing system comes with a lifetime, dry-basement warranty. The warranty is transferable to a new owner in case you decide to sell your home.
We chose to develop an interior basement waterproofing system for a reason. It is the best option. Two unrecommended basement waterproofing methods you may hear of are exterior waterproofing and interior sealants.
Exterior waterproofing involves applying a rubber epoxy or other sealant on the exterior of the basement wall. The sealant prevents any water from penetrating the basement wall and is very effective. This method is perfect for new home construction. But, for already built homes, this requires excavation around the entire perimeter of the house. Such excavation quickly becomes prohibitively expensive, not to mention to the destruction of your yard and driveway.
You will also run into basement companies offering interior basement sealing. Similar to exterior sealing a rubber, tar or hydraulic cement is applied to the interior of the basement walls. This is a silly and ineffective method of basement waterproofing. The water in soil surrounding the basement will permeate through the porous cement walls. When it presses up against the sealant the hydrostatic pressure will force the sealant to peel off the wall.
Many Staten Island homeowners are dealing with wet or damp crawl spaces. The good news is that we can solve the problem with our crawl space encapsulation system.
First, the crawl space is sealed off from outside air. The vents are closed off and a sealable crawl space entrance is installed. Rigid foam insulation is added to the crawl space floor and walls. Afterwards, a thick vinyl vapor barrier is laid on top of the insulation. A crawl space sump pump is installed after grading the soil. Last crawl space dehumidifier is setup in the crawl space.
The sealed crawl space is now free from humid outside air. The vapor barrier prevents moisture entrance and if there is a leak upstairs the sump pump remove water from the crawl space. Your dehumidifier maintains the relative humidity preventing mold growth and rot. When complete you have a completely protected crawl space. No more moldy smells or cold floors.

For all these underlying foundation issues we have exclusive commercial foundation products that have been custom designed and load tested by a team of structural engineers. From helical push piers to wall anchors we offer large-scale foundation repair in Staten Island.
If your Staten Island home or business has sunken concrete slabs we have the answer. Rather than grinding down the slab (which weakens it) we can lift it back up to its original position.
The process of concrete leveling or lifting has traditionally been called mudjacking or slab jacking. The process involves drilling a series of holes into the sunken concrete slab. Then, traditionally, a pressurized concrete or mud slurry is injected through the holes. The pressure of the slurry beneath the slab lifts the concrete back to its original position. The slurry then solidifies holding the slab in its original position.
We use the same method for concrete lifting but rather than use a mud slurry, we use an expansive polyurethane foam called PolyLEVEL. PolyLEVEL provides a number of benefits over mud slurry. It is pumped through much smaller holes in the concrete. It is also much lighter than slurry putting less stress on weak soil bases. PolyLEVEL reaches 90% strength in less than an hour while mudslurry takes days to cure. Using PolyLEVEL allows to lift your sunken concrete slabs faster and better.
